The Freques (short for “Frequencies of the Universe”) formed around the same time as the Homegrown Fest and have evolved along with the event. Their initial appearance was as an acoustic trio, but, four years later, the Freques combine mandolin, banjo, and accordion with rock band instruments to create bluesy, jammy, roots-rock music. This will be their fourth year playing at Homegrown and we like to think that they will continue to play as long as the fest exists.
