HomeGrown Music Looks Ahead to 6th Annual Festival

West Bend, Wisconsin

March 18, 2020

We are watching the effects and impact of COVID-19 very closely.  We are planning and moving forward with the HomeGrown Music Festival on Sunday, July 12 at Regner Park in West Bend.

Music comforts.  Music heals.  Music brings us together.  As you are spending time in close quarters, making sense of what’s happening, we suggest listening to the musicians who have helped us build this festival.

Hometown Foundation Gives Back to Washington County

West Bend, Wisconsin

December 20, 2019

The Hometown Foundation Inc. presented a $2000 check to the Washington County Historical Society and a $500 check to the Downtown West Bend Association on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019. These donations came directly from proceeds of the 5th Annual HomeGrown Music Festival, which took place on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Regner Park in West Bend, WI.

Since its foundation in 2015, the HomeGrown Music Festival has focused on providing local artists the opportunity to perform live, original music in a public setting. It has steadily grown, with over 1500 people attending the event in 2019. Dedicated support from residents and businesses from South Eastern Wisconsin has allowed the HomeGrown Festival to donate over $10,000 to local organizations.

“This unique concept brings awareness to local artists, local businesses and community organizations, while engaging our Hometown in a positive way. We are always looking for partners who share in the mission of nurturing the quality of life in Washington County through arts and entertainment.” said Mike Christian, co-founder and Vice President of The Hometown Foundation Inc.

The 2020 HomeGrown Music Festival takes place on Sunday, July 12 and includes an exciting line-up of musicians. For additional details please visit homegrownmusicwi.com or hometown.foundation.

Homegrown Music Festival: Washington County Community Bands Together for Festival’s Fifth Year

West Bend, Wisconsin

For Immediate Release

The Homegrown Music Festival will take place at Regner Park in West Bend on Sunday, July 7th.  The festival will feature 7 bands and artists from Wisconsin, all performing their original music.

The festival was first held in 2015 and from its beginning has been a labor of love for a group of year-round and seasonal volunteers.  From then until 2018, festival attendance has grown from 500 to 1500 – making it Wisconsin’s best kept music secret. We’d like to change that in 2019.

“This whole event would not be possible without the dedicated support of our sponsors, partnership with the City of West Bend Parks Department, and our spirited volunteers and vendors. Our vision for this event is continually evolving and we hope to incorporate both music and art in creative ways moving forward, to enhance the festival experience.” said Mike Christian, founder of the Homegrown Music Festival

The lineup includes:  The Freques, Wise Jennings, No Name String Band, Chris Haise Band, RedHawks, Brett Newski and The Mascot Theory

Keeping with the “homegrown” theme, after costs are recouped, the Hometown Foundation will contribute funds to the Washington County Historical Society.  The museum features exhibits of local history from brewing to racing and the Old Jailhouse Museum. Further, festival goers who make a monetary or non-perishable donation to “Splash Out Hunger” will get a complimentary pass to the Regner Park pool on the day of the festival.

Food will be available for purchase and provided by Tochi Ramen and the West Bend Bombers Semi-Pro Hockey team.
